Jeff Birch is an Information Technology professional with over 35 years of experience. Jeff has focused his career specifically on best practices in Project Management, Business Process Management, Information Technology Service Management (ITSM), Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) in leading and implementing Information Systems and developing IT Professionals. His motto that is emblazoned on a plaque in his office reads, “Reliability, Scalability, Stability, Supportability and Sustainability with Excellence!”, which reflects his values in strategic decision making and managing IT resources and solutions.
Jeff’s experience includes a significant role for almost 20 years as the Chief Technology Officer for Azusa Pacific University ,being responsible for the information technology infrastructure of the university and all stakeholder’s IT service needs. He was the executive project manager for the selection and implementation of the university’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and the Student Information System (SIS) solution, PeopleSoft. He also served as the project lead in the selection and implementation of the Customer Relationship Management system, Salesforce/Target X, and Helpdesk solutions, Service Now, and then Zendesk.
During his tenure, Jeff instituted IT best practices in multiple areas which led to higher performance, a more reliable, scalable, and stable IT infrastructure with improved customer service to the university community. Some of the technical projects Jeff worked on were Campus-wide Wi-Fi, university laptop leasing program, implementation of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) solution, development of IT policies and procedures, and introduction of an IT staff development process resulting in all IT staff being certified in their area of discipline. As a result, Jeff is certified in ITSM, ITIL, Freshdesk Omnichannel Expert, and Project Management Professional (PMP).
Prior to joining Azusa Pacific University, Jeff worked at World Vision International (WVI), for 13 years. At WVI Jeff was involved in developing software, installing Local Area Networks, deploying messaging systems, implementing collaborative systems, and providing training, IT, and management consultation through Business Process Management (BPM) for 65 international offices. Along with the technical services, Jeff was involved in leadership development for the IT staff in those countries.
Jessica Birch is a passionate and vivacious expert in two leading industries, solar energy, and insurance. Her passion stems from a strong desire to help and support others. Characterized by her experiences, she displays compassion, kindness, and the utmost integrity. Driven by sheer determination and her ability to never give up, she started her career at Allstate Insurance and quickly became one of the most sought agents by local companies and fleets. Insuring distributors such as SnapOn Tools and Sara Lee she found herself amongst the top agents in her area. Feeling accomplished, but with a need for change and a desire to learn more, she then transitioned to Azusa Pacific University where she worked while acquiring a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies and initiated work towards a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership. Working in the International Center interacting with students from many countries, on many continents, she played an intricate role in assisting those who desired to attend school from abroad. During her employment at Azusa Pacific University, she traveled all over the world and developed compassion and empathy for other cultures. Reminded of the common struggles and losses many people share and endure alike, she felt drawn back into the insurance business. With her knowledge of the industry and many years of experience, she is currently an active independent agent who strives to obtain the best solution for her clients.
Starting in 2021, Jessica “caught the bug” and wanted to help families achieve energy independence after implementing a solar energy system at her home. This not only saved the family a lot of money but also taught her just how easy it was to generate clean energy from the sun. Realizing the benefits of renewable energy and how much solar helps to improve our climate and environment, she has since become an advocate for green living and a consultant of solar energy systems. With just a few simple steps she can help you achieve the same results she’s experienced.
Below is an image of our electric bill for May 2022. I would like to point out two elements.
1. The monthly bill due for May was $20.04! Basically, that is the monthly service fee SCE charges.
2. The Annual True-up fee for the months of March 2021 thru March 2022 is $225.46. Our Average monthly electric bill BEFORE solar was approximately $500 a month. During the summer months we ran our A/C 24 X 7 and some months our bill was as high as $750.
The moral to the story! Solar saved us a lot of money!
